When the pass pays off here

For this sight alone, no pass pays off: entry costs £36, a one-day London Pass £105.00.

With the journey, Windsor takes up half a day. On your Windsor day you will hardly manage enough other sights to make a London Pass day pay off. Windsor fits the Explorer Pass better, where it simply counts as one attraction: Windsor, the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey cost £105 together without a pass, the Explorer Pass for three attractions £89.00.

In the London Pass, Windsor is worth it if you buy the pass for three or more days and plan the other days in London fully.

Tips for your visit

Windsor Castle is usually open Thursday to Monday and closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. As a residence of the King, it can also close at short notice. Check the day on the Royal Collection Trust website before you catch the train.

On Sundays, St George’s Chapel is open for worship only.

Allow half a day including travel, and about three hours for the castle itself. Windsor & Eton Central and Windsor & Eton Riverside stations are a few minutes from the castle.
