Westminster Abbey with the London Pass
Kings and queens have been crowned in Westminster Abbey for centuries. With the London Pass you get in if you book a time slot in advance. This page explains how that works and on which days the church is closed to visitors.
Key facts in brief
- With the London Pass you book a time slot for Westminster Abbey in advance. It is open to visitors Monday to Saturday.
- Without a pass, adult admission costs £32. The London Pass includes it, and on the Explorer Pass it counts as one of your attractions.
- On its own it does not justify a pass. Add the sights nearby and a day comes to £152 in admissions; the London Pass for one day costs £105.00.

When the pass pays off here
For this sight alone, no pass pays off: entry costs £32, a one-day London Pass £105.00.
It is a different story if you add The London Eye, Thames river cruise and Hop-on hop-off bus on the same day. Then the admissions add up to £152. The London Pass for one day costs £105.00 and saves you £47.
Westminster Abbey, the London Eye and a Thames cruise are all within walking distance. Add the hop-on hop-off bus and you have a full pass day.

How the visit works with the pass
With the London Pass you reserve a day and time in advance. Without a booking, the pass will not get you in.
With your pass and booking, head to the visitor entrance. The code is scanned there, followed by a security check.
The multimedia guide is included in admission. It takes you through the coronation church, the royal tombs and Poets’ Corner.
Tips for your visit
You can visit the Abbey Monday to Saturday. On Sundays it is open for worship only. It can also close on other days for special events, so check the day on the Abbey’s website before you book.
The nearest Tube stations are Westminster and St James’s Park.
Allow about two hours. The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Galleries high up in the church are not part of standard admission; you buy the ticket for them on site. Large bags and suitcases are not allowed.
