St Paul’s Cathedral with the London Pass

Christopher Wren’s cathedral, with its dome and galleries, is included in the London Pass. You do not need to book. This page explains what admission covers and how to combine the visit with the Tower.

Key facts in brief

  • With the London Pass you get into St Paul’s Cathedral without booking. It is open to visitors Monday to Saturday.
  • Without a pass, adult admission costs £27. The London Pass includes it, and on the Explorer Pass it counts as one of your attractions.
  • On its own it does not justify a pass. Add the sights nearby and a day comes to £121 in admissions; the London Pass for one day costs £105.00.

When the pass pays off here

For this sight alone, no pass pays off: entry costs £27, a one-day London Pass £105.00.

It is a different story if you add Tower of London, The View from The Shard and Thames river cruise on the same day. Then the admissions add up to £121. The London Pass for one day costs £105.00 and saves you £16.

The Tower of London is about 25 minutes away on foot, much of it along the Thames. That way both fit into one day.

How the visit works with the pass

Turn up without booking

With the London Pass you do not need a time slot for St Paul’s. You have the pass in the Go City app.

Get it scanned at the entrance

The code is scanned at the visitor entrance. Then you are inside the cathedral.

Cathedral, crypt and dome

Admission covers the cathedral floor, the crypt, the galleries in the dome and a multimedia guide. Two short guided tours are free as well.

Tips for your visit

You can visit St Paul’s Monday to Saturday; last entry is usually at 4pm. On Sundays there are only services. Visits can also be restricted on weekdays because of special events.

The nearest Tube station is St Paul’s on the Central line, right next to the cathedral.

The dome takes some stamina: there are several hundred steps up to the highest gallery. Children may only go up with an adult. Allow about two hours including the galleries.
