Which pass suits you?

Three questions about how long you stay, your pace and what matters to you. The answer is a pass, a combo ticket or the advice to buy single tickets.

The two passes that fit most often

Both come from Go City, both are digital and both can be cancelled free of charge for 90 days until you activate them. The difference is how you pay: by days or by attractions.

The other passes

Less in demand, but the better choice for certain trips.

Four trips, four recommendations

Four typical London trips and the pass most likely to suit each.

First time in London, three days

Usually fits: 3-day London Pass, £199.00

The Tower of London, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s, The Shard and the hop-on hop-off bus cost £223 together if you buy them separately. Add Windsor or a boat trip and the pass comes out ahead.

3 days in London in detail

Family with children

Usually fits: Explorer Pass or Merlin combo ticket

At Go City, children aged 5 to 15 pay the child price; under 5s do not need a pass. With children you rarely manage more than two attractions a day, so the Explorer Pass with four or five sights often works out cheaper. For the London Eye, Madame Tussauds and SEA LIFE there is the Merlin bundle.

London with kids

A weekend in London

Usually fits: Explorer Pass with 4 attractions, £115.00

In two days you can fit in four, maybe five big sights. Then it is better to pay for exactly those four than for two full days. If you run out of time, nothing is lost with the Explorer Pass: you have 30 days for the remaining visits.

London Pass or Explorer Pass?

Five days or more, packed schedule

Usually fits: London Pass for 5 to 7 days

The longer the pass, the cheaper each day: the 5-day pass works out at £49.00 per day. The day ticket for the hop-on hop-off bus alone costs £56. If you visit two or three sights on most days, you are well ahead.

With the Merlin combo tickets it depends on the bundle you choose. Provider pages as of: 9 October 2026.

How this site works

“No pass” is also an answer

If your plans are too small, single tickets are cheaper. The pass finder and the calculator will tell you so.

To the calculator

Gate prices, not estimates

We take the gate prices of the attractions and which pass includes them from Go City, Turbopass, Headout and Merlin. The tables and calculations are based on these figures.

To the attractions

Prices with a date

We check Turbopass, Headout, Tiqets and GetYourGuide regularly through their interfaces. Go City and Merlin we update by hand and add the date we checked.

Frequently asked questions

Which London pass gives the best value?

It depends on how long you stay and what you plan to do. With two or more days and three paid attractions a day, the London Pass gives you the most for your money. With two to seven fixed sights, the Explorer Pass is usually cheaper. With one or two attractions, single tickets are the better buy.

To the savings calculator

What is the difference between the London Pass and the Explorer Pass?

With the London Pass you pay for 1 to 10 days and visit as many attractions in the programme as you can manage in that time. With the Explorer Pass you pay for 2 to 7 attractions and have 30 days from your first visit. Both come from Go City, and the attractions largely overlap.

See them side by side

Are the Tower of London, London Eye and Windsor Castle in every pass?

The London Pass includes all three, and with the Explorer Pass you can choose all three. The Turbopass City has the Tower, the London Eye only at extra cost and Windsor Castle not at all. On the Headout Pass, the Tower and London Eye count as premium attractions, and Windsor is available to choose. With the Merlin combo tickets, the London Eye depends on the bundle you pick; the Tower and Windsor are not part of them.

See all attractions

Is public transport included in any of the passes?

No. None of the passes includes the Tube, regular buses or trains. They only include sightseeing rides such as the hop-on hop-off bus and boats on the Thames. For public transport you pay contactless with a card or phone, or get a Visitor Oyster Card.

London Pass and Oyster Card

How does cancellation work at Go City?

If you buy the London Pass or Explorer Pass directly, you can return it for a full refund within 90 days of purchase, as long as the pass is not activated. It is activated with your first visit. If you buy from another seller, that seller’s rules apply.
